Attentive, engaged learners from this morning’s First Friday Book Synopsis

This morning at the July 7 First Friday Book Synopsis, we had another large, full room of eager learners. Karl Krayer gave his synopsis of Barking Up the Wrong Tree (very entertaining!, and helpful), and I presented my synopsis of Algorithms to Live By. Those synopses, with the audio recordings of our presentations, along with our comprehensive, multi-page handouts, will be available soon on the “buy synopses” tab on this site.

For our August 4 session, we have selected two books worthy of our time and attention. I will present my synopsis of the new book by the authors of the influential The Second Machine Age, Machine, Platform, Crowd. And Karl Krayer will present a very popular best-selling book that is generating quite a bit of buzz, Real Artists Don’t Starve.

Here are the full titles, with subtitles:

Real Artists Don’s Starve: Timeless Strategies for Thriving in the New Creative Age by Jeff Goins. Thomas Nelson. 2017. – Synopsis presented by Karl Krayer.

Machine, Platform, Crowd: Harnessing our Digital Future by Andrew McAfee and Erik Brynjolfsson. W. W. Norton & Co. 2017. – – Synopsis presented by Randy Mayeux.

Put the date August 4 in your calendar, and plan to join us. You’ll be able to register soon from the home page of this web site.
