We had a memorable and insightful session at this morning’s First Friday Book Synopsis (Oct., 2019). I presented my synopses of two really good and provocative books: the new book by Malcolm Gladwell, Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know about the People We Don’t Know, and the excellent book The Optimist’s Telescope: Thinking Ahead in a Reckless Age by Bina Venkataraman.
I will write posts on this blog soon for each of the two books, with my lessons and takeaways. And, my synopses, with the pdf of my comprehensive handout, plus the audio recording of my presentation, will be available soon on this web site. Check out our newest additions by clicking here.
For next month’s session, November 1, I have again selected two books by genuinely influential authors: Jim Mattis, and Simon Sinek. (Sinek’s book is not out yet; it will be published on Oct. 15). And, we will also have a useful bonus session, 8:30 am, led by Tach Branch-Dogans. More details to follow.
Here is the flier with the information about the morning. Mark your calendar now for Nov. 1, 7:00 am. You will be able to register soon from the home page of this web site.
